Cinderbelle in Wonderland
Exactly my problem with so-called Pro-lifers who only care about a child’s well-being before it is born and condemn the women who make the difficult and excruciatingly considered decision to terminate a pregnancy because they don’t want to bring a child into the world if they can’t care for it properly and give it the best life possible. I am pro-life; I believe that life is precious and should be treated as such, which means having reverence for the lives of all human beings living on this planet and striving to make the world a better place for them. I am also pro-choice; I believe that each woman should have the right to make the decision that is best for herself in her unique situation. Let’s call these people what they are: anti-choice. Until I see each person who rails against safe and legal abortions advocating for extensive access to birth control for all and comprehensive sex-education in schools, condemning the death penalty, fostering children who need safe and loving homes, donating money to help save the starving, pushing for free universal health care, lobbying for more rigorous environmental regulations, demanding the best education possible for all children, and doing everything in their power to make sure that their fellow human beings have the comfortable and healthful life that they have a right to - in short, worshipping the miracle of life - then the “pro-life” stance has zero credibility with me.
